On July 18, 1909 he was ordained deacon in the Morcone noviciate. The same year in the months of november and december he lived in the monastery of Gesualdo (in Avellino). On August 10, 1910 he was ordained priest. The bishop decided for an exception to the canon law according to which the minimum age to get ordained is 24 years old.
