On October 9th 1958, the same day in which Eugenio Pacelli died in Castelgandolfo, sister Pascalina Lehner wrote a letter to a friar she new at San Giovanni Rotondo to know what Father Pio thought of the events. The drier replied to the nun that he asked Father Pio and he answered "He is in heaven. I saw him during the Holy Mass.".
